Terms and conditions
The rules for using Meridian.
Last updated: June 10, 2026
These Terms and conditions explain how you may use Meridian, what you can share publicly or keep private, and how Meridian handles safety, reports, moderation, blocking, and accounts.
Meridian is a travel passport app. Please read these Terms together with the Privacy Policy before creating an account or using the app.
1. About these Terms
These Terms form an agreement between you and Meridian, a company registered in Denmark under CVR 46426703.
In these Terms, "Meridian", "we", "us", and "our" mean that company and the Meridian Passport app and related services.
1.1. Trader information and contact
Trader: Meridian, registered in Denmark, CVR 46426703.
For support, safety requests, reports, appeals, and account questions, contact support@meridianpassport.com. The same support email is also listed in the Help section of the app.
1.2. Acceptance
By creating an account, accepting these Terms during sign-up, using Meridian, or posting or sharing content through Meridian, you agree to follow these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Meridian.
1.3. Privacy Policy
The Privacy Policy explains how Meridian collects, uses, stores, and deletes personal data. These Terms should be read together with the Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use Meridian. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
You may not use Meridian if your account has been suspended or removed for safety, abuse, or legal reasons.
2.1. Account responsibility
You are responsible for your account, your profile, your Passport Stamps, your photos, and all activity made through your account. Keep your sign-in details secure.
2.2. Accurate information
You must not impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity, or create misleading public profile information.
3. What Meridian is
Meridian is a travel passport app for tracking visited places, bucketlist marks, and Passport Stamps, and for sharing travel activity with other users when you choose a public passport.
3.1. No official travel advice
Meridian is not official travel, legal, visa, health, safety, or government advice. You are responsible for checking official sources before making travel decisions.
3.2. Free service
Meridian is currently free and has no paid features. If paid features are added later, Meridian will update these Terms and explain the relevant payment rules before purchase.
4. User content
User content includes profile text and avatars, passport information, Passport Stamps (including stamp titles, descriptions, photos, tags, and mentions), country marks and bucketlist marks, map and travel activity, Nice activity, community visibility, and other material you add to Meridian. Meridian does not currently have comments.
4.1. Ownership
You keep ownership of the content you create and upload. You must only upload content you own or have permission to use.
4.2. License to Meridian
You give Meridian permission to host, store, process, display, resize, copy, moderate, and distribute your content as needed to operate the app, show your passport, show public Passport Stamps, maintain safety, and provide support.
4.3. Your responsibility
You are responsible for making sure your content is lawful, respectful, accurate enough for normal app use, and does not violate another person's rights.
5. Public and private passports
Meridian supports both public and private passport use. Public mode is for social travel sharing. Private mode is for personal travel tracking without social features.
5.1. Public mode
When your passport is public, other users may see public parts of your passport, Passport Stamps, photos, travel activity, profile, social stats, community visibility, search results, and leaderboards. Other users may also follow you, receive notifications about your activity where enabled, or use Nice on your public stamps where available.
5.2. Private mode
When your passport is private, Meridian hides social features from your passport and blocks community browsing, traveler search, public passport browsing, leaderboards, following, Nice activity, and related notifications for your account.
5.3. Switching to private
Switching from public to private permanently deletes your followers, following, Nice activity, and community visibility. If you later switch back to public, your social graph and Nice activity start at zero. Your personal travel data, including Passport Stamps, photos, map marks, highlights, residence, profile fields, and public slug may remain unless you delete them or request account deletion.
5.4. Safety settings
Settings, Safety, including Blocked travelers and Reports, is available when your passport is public. If your passport is private, those safety tools are not shown in Settings because social surfaces are disabled for your account.
6. Content and behavior rules
You may not post, upload, share, or promote content or behavior that is abusive, illegal, unsafe, or objectionable.
6.1. Prohibited content
Prohibited content includes nudity or pornography, sexual content involving minors, child exploitation, harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, discriminatory abuse, graphic violence, illegal activity, spam, scams, impersonation, private personal information, malware, intellectual property infringement, and content mainly intended to shame, attack, or humiliate another person.
6.2. Prohibited behavior
You may not abuse reports, evade blocks, create accounts to avoid moderation, scrape Meridian, interfere with the app, access data you are not allowed to access, or use Meridian to harass or target another person.
6.3. Child safety
Any content or behavior involving child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming, or endangerment is strictly prohibited and may be reported to relevant authorities.
7. Safety tools and moderation
Meridian uses lightweight text filtering, user reports, blocking tools, and admin review to reduce abuse and objectionable content.
7.1. Filtering
Meridian may filter obvious slurs, spam, or abusive text in Passport Stamp titles and descriptions before they are saved. If filtering blocks a stamp save, you must change the text before saving. Filtering is not perfect and does not replace user reports or moderation review.
7.2. Reporting
Users can report Passport Stamps and passports through the three-dot menu. Report reasons include harassment, sexual content, hate, spam or scam, personal information, and other. Reports may include the reported content, reason, details, timestamps, reporter information, and moderation status.
7.3. Report status and appeals
You can view reports you have submitted in Settings, Safety, Reports when your passport is public. Reports may be marked as Submitted, Under review, Action taken, or Closed.
If you believe a moderation decision affecting you was wrong, contact support@meridianpassport.com with enough detail for Meridian to review the request.
7.4. Blocking
Users can block other travelers from passport menus when social features are available. Blocking reduces visibility and interaction between the blocker and the blocked user in community, traveler search, public passports, leaderboards, follows, and Nice activity.
7.5. Moderation actions
Meridian may review reports and take proportionate action, including leaving content unchanged, closing a report, hiding or removing Passport Stamps, restricting visibility, suspending accounts, or permanently removing accounts depending on severity and applicable law.
7.6. Timing
Meridian aims to review safety reports and take action on illegal content or serious safety risks without undue delay, but does not guarantee a specific review time or a specific outcome for every report.
8. Account deletion and data requests
You can delete your account in Settings under Account, Delete Account. You can also contact support@meridianpassport.com for account or data help.
Account deletion permanently deletes your Meridian account and app data from normal app use, including passport data, Passport Stamps, photos, follows, Nice activity, push tokens, and feedback submissions. Reports you submitted are deleted. Reports about your account or stamps may be anonymized rather than deleted so Meridian can maintain safety records.
You can reset visited countries, bucketlist marks, Passport Stamps, and related travel stats in Settings under Account, Reset Country Data. This does not delete your account, profile, followers, or other non-travel account data.
9. Meridian rights
Meridian owns the app, brand, design, software, systems, and non-user content. These Terms do not transfer any Meridian intellectual property rights to you.
9.1. Feedback
If you send feedback or suggestions, Meridian may use them without obligation to compensate you.
10. App license
Meridian grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and applicable app store rules.
10.1. Restrictions
You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, modify, reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse Meridian, except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot be restricted.
11. App stores
These Terms are between you and Meridian, not Apple, Google, or any app store provider. Meridian, not the app store provider, is responsible for Meridian and its content, subject to applicable law.

If you downloaded Meridian from Google Play, you acknowledge that Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for Meridian or its content.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Google has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Meridian and provides no warranty for Meridian. Google is not responsible for addressing claims relating to Meridian or your use of it, including product liability, legal compliance, or consumer protection claims.
Your use of Meridian must also follow Google Play's applicable usage rules.
12. Availability and changes to the app
Meridian may change, limit, pause, or stop parts of the app to improve the service, protect users, maintain security, comply with law, or manage technical issues.
13. Suspension and termination
Meridian may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create safety risks, misuse the app, violate another person's rights, or expose Meridian or users to legal or technical risk. Suspension may be temporary or permanent depending on severity.
14. Disclaimers
Meridian is provided as available. Meridian does not promise that the app will always be available, error free, or that all user content will be accurate, lawful, or safe.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory consumer protection law in your country.
15. Liability
To the extent allowed by applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection rules where you live, Meridian is not liable for indirect losses, lost data, lost profits, travel decisions, user content, user conduct, or events outside Meridian's reasonable control.
16. Changes to these Terms
Meridian may update these Terms. If changes are material, Meridian will notify you in the app before or when the updated Terms take effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Danish law, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country gives you additional rights that cannot be waived.
